City Women are back on the road this weekend as we make the trip to the capital to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, February 8th (2pm) at the VBS Community Stadium.
Charlotte Healy’s side are on an impressive run of form having spent January unbeaten.
Wins against Nottingham Forest, Southampton and Sunderland and a point on the road against Ipswich has seen City cement their spot in third place.
Three points on Sunday however, could see The Robins climb above Birmingham City and into second place if results were to go our way.
As for Crystal Palace, they currently sit a spot behind City in fourth, with four points separating the sides.
OUR OPPONENTS: CRYSTAL PALACE
Crystal Palace became semi-professional and were founding members of the Women’s second tier in 2018.
They recorded back to back top five finishes in the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 and received professional status in 2023.
The following season (23/24) saw Palace gain promotion to the Women’s Super League for the first time in their history, winning the WSL2 with a win against Sunderland in front of a record crowd at Selhurst Park.
Their inaugural season in the top flight was one of disappointment however, as they finished bottom and were relegated back to the second tier.
Jo Potter was appointed as manager in the summer and has solid a start to her first campaign in charge with Palace sitting 4th on 22 points after 14 games.
