Bristol City return to Ashton Gate as they host Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 9th (2pm).
City are three unbeaten in the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 and come into this on the back of an impressive 4-2 win over Sunderland in the North East.
Camila Saez, Gemma Lawley, Lexi Lloyd-Smith and Emily Syme were all on target as Charlotte Healy’s side moved into the play-off spot, and the City boss will be looking for much of the same in BS3 this time out.
Healy explained the importance of keeping the form going after the win at Sunderland: ‘This was a huge three points for us, but if we don’t back it up by beating Ipswich next week, you lose the momentum of that. We will enjoy the moment, but we have to look ahead.’
OUR OPPONENTS: IPSWICH
Ipswich were one of the founding members of the Women’s Premier League back in 1991, but after relegation three years later, they have played the majority of their football in the lower tiers of English football.
The Tractor Girls secured promotion to the WSL2 with an 8-0 win over Cheltenham Town and it was then announced their main home would be Colchester United’s Colchester Community Stadium from the beginning of this season, with a handful of games to be played at Ipswich’s men’s ground Portman Road.
Joe Sheehan’s side have endured a tough start to the season but there have been positives to take, including the 3-2 win over Portsmouth and the goalless draw with Charlton, which has left them within touching distance of moving off the bottom of the division.
