Bristol City return to Barclays Women’s Super League action after a two-week break as they make the trip to Leicester City on Sunday, February 18th (3pm).

City have been strong on the road this season and that continued with the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa last time out, a performance and result that Lauren Smith will be looking for her players to replicate as her side enters the final nine games of the season.

Amalie Thestrup and Carrie Jones maintained their fine form this season with goals against Villa, and Thestrup’s strike was her seventh of the campaign, seeing her remain the club’s top scorer.

OUR OPPONENTS: LEICESTER CITY

Formed: 2004
Stadium: King Power Stadium
Nickname: The Foxes
Manager: Willie Kirk
Finish Last Season: 10th

Leicester have enjoyed a good campaign of consolidation this time round, after narrowly surviving last season.

The appointment of former City manager Willie Kirk midway through the 2022/23 season has proved to be successful, with Kirk initially keeping The Foxes in the league, before building a side which is in no sign of danger this time round.

Kirk isn't the only one in the Leicester ranks facing up against their former side this week, with last season’s title winning captain Aimee Palmer also likely to be in The Foxes squad.

Leicester find themselves comfortably mid-table after thirteen games, winning three, drawing four and losing six of their opening fixtures.
