City are looking to make it three unbeaten on the road in the WSL when they visit Liverpool on Sunday, 10th December (2pm).
Lauren Smith’s side come into this on the back of picking up four points from the last two away games, following the 3-2 win at West Ham, and a 2-2 draw against the other Merseyside team in Everton.
Amalie Thestrup bagged in both of those fixtures, and City’s top scorer will be hopeful of picking up her fifth of the season against her former side this weekend.

Liverpool were pioneers for the women’s game in a professional capacity, becoming the first team in the country to offer every female player a full-time contract in 2013.
This spurred the team on to winning back to back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014 under Matt Beard, who went on to manage City in 2021, but The Reds have been unable to recreate their success since. They rebranded as Liverpool Women in 2018, and after Beard departed, were relegated to the Championship on a points-per-game basis after the COVID pandemic curtailed the season in 2019/20.
Beard returned to the club at the beginning of the 2021/22 season and immediately led the club to the Championship title, which they confirmed with a 4-2 win over closest competitors, City, at Ashton Gate.
The Merseyside club have had a strong start to the season, finding themselves fifth after eight games, winning four of their opening fixtures, and losing only two.
