City are back on home territory as they welcome Liverpool to Ashton Gate on Saturday, April 20th (12:30pm).
The visit of The Reds marks the first of three remaining home games for The Robins, who are looking to pick up their first Ashton Gate win of the season after narrowly losing to Tottenham Hotspur last time out in BS3.
City have met Liverpool twice already this campaign, drawing 1-1 at Prenton Park in the league, and narrowly losing 1-0 in the Adobe WFA Cup, making a good account of themselves in both fixtures.
Top scorer Amalie Thestrup has enjoyed a fruitful first season with Lauren Smith’s side, and is one goal away from hitting double figures in the Barclays Women's Super League.
The talismanic Rachel Furness made her long-awaited return to action in the defeat at Arsenal last week after five months out with a hamstring injury, and she’ll be looking to play a key part in the run-in.
OUR OPPONENTS: LIVERPOOL
Founded: 1989
Stadium: Prenton Park
Nickname: The Reds
Manager: Matt Beard
Finish Last Season: 7th
Former City manager Matt Beard took over for his second spell in the North West in 2021, winning the Championship title at the first attempt and leading Liverpool back to the WSL, which they won twice under Beard in 2013 and 2014.
The Reds enjoyed a consolidation season in their first campaign back in the top flight last season, finishing 7th, a platform in which they have managed to build on this time round.
Liverpool find themselves fifth in the league as we head into the final four games of the season, which would prove to be their highest finish in the WSL since 2017 if they were to hold on.
