Bristol City Women are in the midst of an FA Women’s Super League 2 promotion battle and Claire Emslie admits they will be taking a step into the unknown against Millwall Lionesses.
For the second time this season, City take on a Millwall team led by a new manager – Lee Burch took charge of the Lionesses this week – and as a result Emslie admits it’s tough to know what to expect.
Instead the Vixens’ focus will be on their own performance having got back to winning ways last time out with a convincing 3-0 win over London Bees.
And as the title race hots up, with Yeovil just two points clear of City, it was essential to turn the corner – according to Emslie.
“It was good to be back to winning ways and to get those three points,” said Emslie, who was away training with Scotland this week.
“The priority at the moment is ourselves but every time you play you want to know how the other teams have got on as well.
“With Millwall, the last time we played them they had just changed managers as well so we don’t know what to expect.
“We’ve no idea if they are going to change their game plan but hopefully we’ll be ready for them.”
Millwall have been on a tough run, drawing 2-2 with Sheffield last time out as their search for a win continued.
