Bristol City Women are in FA Cup Third Round action this weekend as they welcome Portsmouth to the Robins High Performance Centre on Sunday, December 14th (3pm).

Charlotte Healy’s side come into the game off the back of a strong performance at Ashton Gate against Sheffield United, where they ran out 4-0 victors.

Healy spoke to the media today and is looking forward to the cup clash, she said: "I absolutely love the FA Cup it's my favourite cup competition to be honest, so we're looking forward to it.

“We've got WSL2 opposition so it kind of keeps us switched onto the league and then we'll be ready to bounce straight into Wednesday afterwards.”

OUR OPPONENTS: PORTSMOUTH

Pompey turned semi-professional ahead of the 2023/24 season and were rewarded with promotion to the second tier for the first time in their history.

They finished ninth in their debut campaign at that level last season.

Boss Jay Sadler is Portsmouth's first-ever full-time manager, appointed in 2017 after stepping up from assistant manager when Craig Taylor's spell was brought to an end.

After promotion in 2022/23, finishing seven points off top spot, The Blues continued their form the following season winning 20 of their 22 matches and scoring 125 goals in all competitions.

Last season, a slightly different story, Pompey headed into March with only two points on the board.

However, a dramatic turnaround in form meant that going into the final day with Blackburn, they had to better Sheffield United’s result against Southampton to guarantee survival.

Sadler's side secured championship status after enjoying a comfortable 4-0 win at Fratton Park.
