City make the trip to South Yorkshire as they visit Sheffield United on Sunday, October 6th (1pm).
City are in search of their first three points of the campaign after picking up two draws and a loss in their opening fixtures, with the general feeling that the Robins have deserved more from their performances so far.
Head Coach Steve Kirby will be hoping the midweek draw and penalty shootout win against Women’s Super League side Leicester City in the League Cup will be the boost his side needed as they look for their first win of the campaign.
Summer signing Lexi Lloyd-Smith bagged her second of the season against The Foxes, and she’ll be looking to continue her impressive start to the campaign this weekend.
OUR OPPONENTS: SHEFFIELD UNITED
Founded: 2002
Stadium: Bramall Lane
Nickname: The Blades
Manager: Ash Thompson
Finish Last Season: 7th
Sheffield United are into their eighth consecutive season in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The Blades have never found themselves in real danger of the drop during that time, but have only really put one genuine promotion push together, when they finished second in the 2018/19 season. Head Coach Ash Thompson, who was appointed at the end of last season, will be eager to change that during his tenure.
Thompson’s side have endured a tough start to the season and are in search of their first points, after losing all four of their opening games.
