Bristol City are back in action as they make the trip to the North East to visit Sunderland on Sunday, November 2nd (2pm).
Charlotte Healy’s side are in good form in the league, unbeaten in two games following the 2-1 win over Durham last time out, and a 2-2 draw on The Robins’ last trip to the North East against Newcastle.
The international break gave Healy a chance to reflect on what’s been a positive start to the season, and she’s expecting a difficult task against The Lasses.
She said ahead of the test: ‘It’s a really tough place to go, we did it in pre-season to make sure we had those experiences.
"We’re going to have to be at our best, Sunderland have had a really good start to the season, and they’re very well coached and managed.’
OUR OPPONENTS: SUNDERLAND
Sunderland were relegated from the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2018 and have been in the second tier ever since.
The 2023/24 season was their most successful since, with The Black Cats finishing third in the Barclays Women's Super League 2 and narrowly missing out on promotion back to the WSL.
Last season was a disappointing one for Melanie Reay’s side, as they couldn't build on the success of the campaign before, finishing seventh, level on points with City who finished one place above on goal difference.
