Oxtoby’s side travel to the capital to take on the star-studded Blues and the full-back is eager to test herself against a number of the best players in the world.

Chelsea Challenge

“I think it’s exciting. You can only get excited by the opportunities to play against not only some of the best players in the Barclays FAWSL, but the world.”

“You’ve got to be up for these challenges, you’ve got to back yourself and to be the best you have got to play the best.

“We’re obviously the underdogs and that takes the pressure off us to go to Kingsmeadow play our game and fight for a result."

Areas to improve

“We knew it was going to be tough. Everton have made some great signings and the first game for the season is to find out where you’re at.

“We made some mistakes and we know that; we also know how to put it right and there are a lot of positives to take moving forward, which will allow us to build on that performance.

“Playing with each other will come more naturally, the more we do it. I think on the pitch it’ll click. We’ve just got to believe in the process and keep on working what we need to improve on and play to our strengths, and the results will come eventually.”

Settling in

“The girls have been great in helping me settle in, I’ve been made to feel at home and comfortable straight away, which is really nice.

“It’s a really nice environment to be in where you can enjoy your football, and that is somewhere I wanted to be, where you can come in and enjoy going to work. It’s not about fine-tune it, so we can get the results to match that."
