City Women have begun their rebuild, yesterday announcing the signing of midfield duo Ava Kuyken and Chloe O’Connor.
The club meanwhile bids a fond farewell to Sophie Baggaley, Faye Bryon, Megan Wynne and Meaghan Sargeant.
Everyone at Bristol City Women would like to thank the group for their contributions during their time at the club and wish them the best for the future.
Sophie Baggaley
Baggaley has been a stand-out performer for City in her four-year spell at the club, making 117 appearances.
The 24-year-old received a number of accolades throughout her time at the club, most notably in the 2018/19 season when she was named in the PFA Team of the Year as well as voted Fans’ PFA Player of the Year and FAWSL Player’s Player of the Year.
Faye Bryson
Full-back Bryson has spent the last 18-months in the West Country. She initially arrived on-loan from Everton in January 2020 and made a permanent switch to the Robins last summer.
Bryson - joins Barclays FAWSL outfit Reading Women - made 20 appearances for City, scoring once against Aston Villa in April 2020.
Megan Wynne
The winger departs after a year-and-a-half with the Robins. Wynne joined on-loan from Tottenham Hotspur before joining City permanently in the summer of 2020.
Wynne missed the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign after sustaining a knee ligament injury during pre-season.
Meaghan Sargeant
The centre back made 23 appearances in her two seasons at the club after arriving from Birmingham City in the summer of 2019. She has joined Aston Villa ahead of the new season.
