City played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Barclays Women's Super League side Leicester City, taking the extra point after a penalty shootout dominated by the 'keepers.

The hosts took the lead through Shana Chossenotte before Lexi Lloyd-Smith pulled one back with 10 minutes to play, Jackie Burns saving the decisive penalty after five each.

The first chance came inside a quarter of an hour as Harley Bennett was called into action to clear off the line after Deanne Rose took it round Burns and fired goalwards from a tight angle.

Shortly before the half-hour mark the hosts went close again as Sam Tierney nodded just over the crossbar from a deep cross.

The Robins' first chance came four minutes later as Amalie Thestrup floated a cross in from the left for Jazz Bull; the wing-back volleying into the arms of the keeper.

The hosts took the lead after 67 minutes as Chossenotte was fed the ball on the right of the area to finish from a tight angle.

With 10 minutes to play, City drew level. Jesse Woolley fed Abi Harrison down the right and her cross was brilliantly turned home by Lloyd-Smith.

The game headed to a shootout and it was City who emerged victorious, with both stoppers making three saves.

Harrison and Woolley buried their spot-kicks to win it 2-1.
