Simpson joins City.

City have signed Jess Simpson on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The 18-year-old defender arrives on deadline day after being part of United’s Under-21 WSL Academy League and cup-winning side in 2022, before stepping up to the first team last season.

A product of United’s Academy system, the Lancastrian from Clitheroe near Blackburn has played for England Under-17s and will give City Head Coach Lauren Smith options on the left side.

"I’m really excited to be a part of this team," Simpson said. "I can’t wait for the challenge of playing in the WSL and getting exposure to playing against and with some amazing players.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to develop as a player both on and off the pitch, and Bristol City seems the perfect fit."
