After a gritty display in their 3-2 victory over London City Lionesses the Robins leap frogged the Pride in the FA Women's Championship table to sit in second pace.
Goals from Abi Harrison, Aggie Beever-Jones and captain Aimee Palmer secured the three points for the Robins.
Speaking to Robins TV, Smith said: “The second half felt like it lasted for days, we've come out and really got at them in the second half. We got that goal inside the first two minutes so it was really important how we took on the rest of the half.
"The girls were excellent in possession but also in the grittiness of the game today because London City Lionesses put us under a lot of pressure so we had to be adaptable - that's where we got some success.
"I'm really pleased as it was a difficult game against really good opposition."
Speaking about her skipper Palmer, Smith added: "Whatever we need she is there. Today she scored from a set play which was excellent, she practices them and puts everything into what she does. Next minute she is running into the back line to make last-ditch tackles, she's what you need as a captain on and off the pitch."
Smith also spoke about how key it is for her side to be clinical in front of goal as as her side moved up to second place in the table.
