Smith named LMA Manager of the Month for March.

A consecutive monthly award for Smith, whose Bristol City side overcame four out of five opponents in March to lead the way in the Barclays Women's Championship promotion race going into the final month.

On receiving the Manager of the Month trophy Smith said: “We wouldn’t be where we our without all of our incredible staff and players pulling in the same direction.

"I’m pleased to be able to pick up this award on their behalf."

Chair of the League Managers Association panel Faye White MBE added: “Smith's Bristol City team demonstrated their desire and resilience in a challenging five-game month. The four wins showing their attacking prominence and ability to grind out results away from home.

"Recovering from disappointment is crucial when competing for league titles and Smith will be especially proud of how her team responded to the defeat to London City with an important win away at Southampton."

The LMA panel for the monthly awards involves six highly experienced individuals with specialist knowledge of the women’s game and football management, including Faye White MBE (Former England International Captain and LMA Technical Advisor), Alan Curbishley (LMA Board Member and LMA Manager of the Year 1999/2000), Brent Hills (LMA Member and Technical Mentor), Mollie Kmita (Presenter and Host of Barclays Women's Championship Show), Mo Marley MBE (LMA Member), and Jen O’Neill (Editor of She Kicks - women's football magazine).
