Emily Syme and Abi Harrison both found the net in the second half as City extended their 100% record in BS8, Smith praising an excellent performance ‘from front to back’.
“We started really well,” she said. “In the first 25 minutes we had all of the ball and were really calm and controlled.
“That was the theme of the game, even in the second half when they broke through a couple of times, our defence was excellent once again and cleared it up.
“We were in control today and just had to be patient to wait for the goals, and they came.
“I’m really pleased with the 90-minute performance from front to back.”
The display marked an 11th clean sheet in all competitions for the division’s most effective defensive unit.
“We’ve got such a good defensive line,” Smith continued. “Even when we got a bit overloaded at times in some of the defensive areas, we still came out with the ball and were quite often able to start attacks.
“I can’t ask for more, I think they were excellent and it’s about consistency building forwards now.”
