The Robins raced into an early lead as Chloe Bull picked out the bottom corner inside 45 seconds. Abi Harrison bagged a brace either side of Aimee Palmer’s sublime finish as she scored direct from a corner to hand all three points to the hosts.
City’s Head Coach was pleased to see her squad back to their rampant best in front of goal.
Speaking to Robins TV, Smith said: “There was excitement within the group of what has happened before and also what we have done this week in training, and got behind each other at what might happen today and the performance we could put in.
“To go ahead early on against the wind is testament to the focus that we had straight away in the game. Even to go into half-time 2-0 up really sets out our stall for the second half, which meant we could start to play.
“Our press was excellent and they really struggled to get out against us. We were on the front foot, there was a real teamwork on display and that showed in the result.”
