Smith proud of players' commitment.

The visitors gained promotion from the FA Women's Championship after three set-piece goals in front of a City and FA Championship crowd of 5,752.

Speaking to Robins TV, Smith said: “They are a good team and we knew that beforehand, there's a few different emotions including disappointment because when we've come out and pressed them we have caused them some problems. Fair play to them, they've had a great season and they deserve it.

"I'm proud of the players because they didn't give up at any point today and I'm proud of the thousands of fans who turned up today.

"The great thing about this team is that they come back and they are resilient and that's what's got us to this point."

On the performances of the younger players, Smith added: "They have been excellent, the biggest thing we have been able to do here is give opportunities to the younger players. Brooke (Aspin) has been outstanding for the whole season and it's great to get some of the Academy players in like Jasmine Bull and Maddi Wilde, who deserved to get on the pitch today because they work hard. There's only going to be more to come."

The City Head Coach also spoke about breaking the league attendance record and how she wants her side to finish the season strong.
