Rio Hardy handed Coventry the lead heading into the half-time break and City were unable to respond until the 81st minute when Harrison powered home after Chloe Bull’s curling cross clattered off the crossbar.
“It feels a bit like we’ve got away with one and I am glad we’ve got a point out of it,” said Smith.
“During the game I think we’ve had three clear cut chances that we haven’t put away and that changes the way the game goes. They’ve (Coventry) had one really well taken goal and that’s put us under pressure.
“Eventually we had to go and play their game to get the goal because they stepped up."
