Steve Kirby named Manager of the Month.

Bristol City Women’s Head Coach Steve Kirby has been named as the Barclays Women’s Championship Manager of the Month for December.

The award is voting on by the League Managers Association (LMA) Panel.

City Women sit joint top of the Championship, with just goal difference keeping them behind Birmingham City.

Having won four matches in a row at Ashton Gate, City Women put on a show in December, dispatching Durham – who sat third in the division at the time – 5-0, while also making it past Southampton in the Adobe Women's FA Cup, with an impressive 3-0 away win.

Steve Kirby said: “While I am very grateful for this award, it is a reflection of the staff and players who have performed so well.

“It has not just been the month of December, either. Since I have come in, I have been supported brilliantly by the whole team. We are excited by the prospect of the second half of the season.”
