The 21-year-old joins the Robins on a one-year deal from Barclays FA Women's Super League side Aston Villa, where Syme spent two years before heading out on loan to Sheffield United for part of last season.

The midfielder re-joins City after starting her journey in the West Country at Under-15s level, before progressing through the club's academy system to make one WSL appearance during the 2017/18 campaign.

Syme has also represented at England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level and now hopes her experiences can lead the side to success this season.

Speaking to Robins TV, Syme said: “I'm really buzzing to be back, I know a few of the girls already and the ones I didn’t know have been really welcoming so I have settled in early on and I’m hoping we can build something really great here.

"I'm a dynamic and creative player who likes to get on the ball and make things happen. I'm hoping I can help build the play, create some chances and get the front three scoring some goals, like they did last season.

"I think we could get promoted this season, that's the big goal. But, I think having a solid year where we're playing well and enjoying playing will also help to achieve that in the next few years."

City's eighth summer signing also spoke about the draw of the facilities at the Robins High Performance Centre, her ambitions to in to the England senior team and her ambitions.
