The iconic family-run cidermaker will sponsor the Barclays FA Women’s Championship side for the third successive year.

Thatchers Cider has its home at Myrtle Farm in Sandford, just a few miles down the road from the women’s team home at the Robins High Performance Centre, where they will train full-time and play the majority of their matches.

Bristol Sport Group Head of Commercial Justine Kebby said: “Thatchers is an iconic name in the cider world and it’s great that we are strengthening our long-standing relationship with another year of sponsorship for our women’s team. To have a partner synonymous with the region and instantly recognised and enjoyed by our supporters is a perfect match.”

Thatchers have been making cider for four generations, and their knowledge and passion for apples is reflected in their best-selling ciders – authentic, full of flavour, and a distinct character that reflects Somerset cidermaking at its best. They craft a range of ciders, including Thatchers Gold, Thatchers Haze, Thatchers Blood Orange and Thatchers Rosé, all made with the same care, attention and hands-on experience.

Martin Thatcher, Thatchers Cider Managing Director and fourth generation cidermaker, said: “These are exciting times for women’s football as we saw by the record crowd of almost six thousand who came to watch the Liverpool game.  We have been impressed not only by how the team have done on the pitch but also by the way they have welcomed fans at games and inspired the community by supporting Robins Foundation events.

“Here at Thatchers Cider we are fully behind Lauren Smith and the team and will be toasting them with a refreshing glass of cider in hand.”
