City Women fell behind in the opening minute when, Melissa Johnson tapped from five yards out and it took until the fifty-eighth minute for Bristol City to draw level when, Graham converted a penalty after new signing Kemppi was bought down in the box.
The hosts reclaimed the lead when substitute, Domingo curled her effort into the far corner to set up a tense finale. With four minutes of play left, Graham’s superb volley drew the sides level and saw Oxtoby’s side claim a point.
A penalty shootout then followed to determine who would take home an extra point and it was the hosts who prevailed with goalkeeper, Clarke saving attempts from Humphrey and Brown.
“I think we need to start better. Our reaction was great, but we need to be ready to come straight out of the blocks. For us to have to come from behind twice was disappointing, but the character shown by the squad was exceptional, so that is a positive.”
“We need to work on our ball possession ahead of Sheffield United next weekend. We really penetrated in behind Leicester today, quite easily at times but we just didn’t do it enough so that’s a big work on ahead of next week as well as getting a better start.”
Graham is a new addition to the City Women squad, arriving from Scottish-side, Hibernian in the summer and she has made an immediate impact in her first competitive game for BCWFC.
Oxtoby said she was really pleased for Graham to get off the mark in such style: “She’s such a raw talent and has so much potential. She’s one of those players who works really hard, so I’m really pleased for her to start in that manner.
"For us she’s already one of the big character in the changing room so it’s great for her to get the performance in today.”
