The impressive victory was the Robins’ third victory in the league this season so far, taking Smith’s side up to sixth in the league table.
City's performance was one of their best in recent memory, and Smith put that down to the togetherness and resilience of the squad.
“They've performed well today, especially the second half, that was where we looked the strongest and really kind of got into our groove, playing that one, two touch passing. They got what they deserved, which was goals in the end,” said Smith.
“The last few games, we've done everything up until that point [scoring], but today we we're putting them on target. We were reacting to things and really causing problems for Sheffield.
“We went a goal down but knowing that we came out with such a big marginal win - I think that goes down to their belief. They know that they can trust each other, get goals when needed, and they just buck each other up in terms of that.”

The Robins' next fixture will take place on Monday, November 8th (7:45PM) as Smith's team travel to the midlands to take on Coventry United.
City's following fixture will see them take on Blackburn Rovers at Ashton Gate Stadium on Sunday, November 14th (3pm).
