The Robins travel to The People’s Pension Stadium on Sunday (April 18th) to take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Fourth Round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

Allen believes the squad can draw on their experiences in reaching the FA Continental Cup Final earlier this season as they aim to progress to the next round.

“Everyone is really relishing it,” she said. “It’s a great opportunity for us to progress in another cup competition this year.

“We’ve tasted what it is like in getting to the Conti Cup Final this year and that’s an exciting journey and we want to go further in this competition, and it starts on Sunday against Brighton.

“There are four big games left for us and everyone has come back in ready to work with a smile on our faces.

“We’re in good place at the moment and hopefully the momentum will take us through in these last three games – a win on Sunday would kickstart an important period for us.

“There is always a buzz around the FA Cup as a player because it is such an exciting competition. We’d love to get an FA Cup run going and like Matt (Beard) has been saying to us, it’s an opportunity for us to go out and express ourselves.

“It’s a knockout game, you’ve got to win to progress, so come Sunday we’ll be giving 110% to ensure we can progress.”

The full-back is wary that the Seagulls are a transformed team compared to the one they convincingly beat 3-0 back in January, however she believes City have also developed making Sunday’s match-up all the more exciting.

She added: “Brighton have had some really good results since we last played them. They’re going to be a completely different team to the one we faced before, they have some good players and they’re in form but we’re up for the challenge.

“We’re also in a good place right now as a group, our togetherness is second to none and we’ll fight for each other which we will show on Sunday.”
