After a deadlocked first half City came out firing, scoring three goals through Ffion Morgan (2) and Abi Harrison to make it four wins on the bounce.

Speaking to Robins TV, Smith said: “I think we made really hard work of it in the first half. It was always going to be difficult to come here and play as Lewes made that really difficult but credit to the girls as they've turned it around at half-time and that's all I asked.

"They've got behind each other, changed a few things and came out flying in the second half.

"I think they were excellent, we changed two back-line players at half-time and and both of those players, Satara (Murray) and Maddi (Wilde), came in and made a difference. They cleaned up at the back and made sure Lewes didn't get through and it was really important to allow us to get a foothold today."

On Morgan's brace Smith added: "She's got that about her, she needs to do it more often. I'm really pleased for her, it's been coming for a long time."

The head coach also spoke aboit the Robins' next fixture at home against Watford Women and what they can take into the game from the performance in Sussex.
