Ward pens professional contract.

Mari Ward celebrated her 18th birthday by signing a first professional contract with City.

The wing-back made her debut as a 17-year-old last January, playing 90 minutes in the Robins' dramatic 3-2 win over Coventry United and earning the Pick of the Match award.

She's made 26 City appearances to date and won a penalty against Leicester City on her Barclays Women's Super League debut in October.

"I'm delighted to have signed my first professional contract," said Ward. "I've gained so much experience over the last year and I'm excited to continue my development with this club.

"We've got a big second half of the season to come and I'm looking forward to that challenge and beyond."
