'We all put our bodies on the line' - Baggaley.

08 Jun 2026BCW Media Team

The City Women shot-stopper was in inspired form on Sunday afternoon making a string of stunning saves in the finally fifteen minutes to keep the hosts at bay and maintain a clean sheet.

“To get a result like that against a team like Manchester United is brilliant. Everyone dug in right to the very end and that’s what got us the result, said Baggaley.

“To be honest that was the longest fifteen minutes of football I have played in. Everyone was putting their bodies on the line and looking to block every effort and that determination is what got us over the line.

“The Christmas break did the group a lot of good. We came back in fully focused and we’ve had a good week on the training pitch and that has showed in that performance.

“It’s going to be a tough rest of the season still, we’ve got a lot of work to do but the momentum we can take from this victory is vital as we continue to battle for every point available."

Bristol City Women travel away to face Chelsea at Kingsmeadow on Sunday, January 12th before welcoming Liverpool to the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium the following weekend on Sunday, January 19th (3pm).
