‘We must start well’ - Oxtoby.

Sunday’s fixture is City’s third in seven days after facing Reading last weekend and Arsenal midweek in the FA Continental Cup

“It’s been a tough week for us to be honest. Back to back games, which is what you want but probably not against the opposition we have been facing. It’s a great challenge for the group and great to be back at home and hopefully get a good crowd in to support us.

“Every little bit helps when you’re playing a side like Man City, they’ve got quality all over the pitch and they’ll look to exploit you in space and areas that you don’t really want to go in to.

“We’ve got to be switched on and make sure that we start well, that’s something we need to focus on and we need to be able to adjust and adapt to make sure we’re solid enough without the ball and then we can look to counter.”

Last season saw City Women pick up two points against Nick Cushing’s Manchester City side following a 2-2 draw at the Academy Stadium and a 0-0 draw in the West Country.

“This season is a new season, we’ve got a different squad but it shows we can do it when we get the gameplan right and it’s executed in the right way.

“That gives us confidence as staff that we’re on the right track, now it’s about making sure we give the right information to the players, so they can go out and challenge themselves against some of the best players in the country.

The Robins return to Barclays FA Women’s Super League action after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Reading Women and Oxtoby has urged her side to take confidence from last weekend’s result.

“All credit to the girls, they were up against it and away from home and that character to really dig themselves out of hole, if you like, will hold us in good stead for today because against Man City it’s going to be tough."

Bristol City Women take on Manchester City as Barclays FA Women’s Super League action returns to the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium on Sunday, November 24th (12:30pm) and supporters can purchase tickets
