‘We’re getting stronger’ – Matthews.

Matthews and co left East London with a point following an entertaining draw with the Hammers but City were frustrated not to come away with more after hitting the post and crossbar.

“I think we are disappointed to not come away with the three points, but we are building,” said Matthews.

“Each game we are getting stronger and putting in better performances and I think it is only a matter of time before we pick up another win.

“It tough when you hit the woodwork and do get chances, but we can’t quite put them away. It back to work tomorrow and I’m sure we’ll get together, regroup and be ready to go again on Wednesday night where we can get try and pick up another three points.

“We need to stick together and like Matt has said, and I have in a previous interview, it is a marathon not a sprint.

“We have got to keep doing what we’re doing and picking up points where we can and fingers crossed, we can do that again on Wednesday.

“I’ve enjoyed operating in midfield to be fair, I have got on the ball a lot more and hopefully can help make a difference in the middle. It’s been good for me.”
