'We threw everything at them' - Smith.

08 Jun 2026BCW Media Team

After the Blades made it 1-0 through Ellie Wilson in the first half, the Robins tried to find a way back into the game but couldn't find the back of the net despite a valiant effort.

Speaking to Robins TV, Smith said: “I think overall it was a scrappy game, I don't think we have had to defend a lot and we've kept their front line really quiet so it's disappointing to lose the game to one free-kick.

"We created chances and threw everything at them so big praise to our players because they didn't stop and tried to play."

On Aimee Palmer's injury, Smith added: "She's taken a nasty challenge and gone down so we had to take her off but we'll have a look at her in the week and hopefully see her soon."

The City Head Coach also spoke about the game against Liverpool at Ashton Gate next week and how important it is for her side to get back to winning ways against the league leaders.
