Bissell made her first appearance for City Women in their 3-1 defeat at Arsenal after signing from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
“I was really pleased to make my debut,” said Bissell.
“I think as a team we really worked hard together and we were unlucky with the result, but now that can be a springboard for us for future results, especially looking to Wednesday and Sunday again in the league.
“You always want to test yourself against the best opposition and I think as a team we held our own. I was pleased individually with my performance, and I think as a team now It’s going to really push us on."
The 18-year-old midfielder had a very strong debut for the Robins and was named Player of the Match. Bissell is pleased to have received such praise ahead of a busy week.
“Things like that are really pleasing as a player, you are always looking to do your best so to get that recognition was really good, especially against a top Arsenal team. It gives me that motivation now to go again on Wednesday and Sunday.”
City will be back at home ground Twerton Park for the first time in over a month this evening as they host London Bees in their first FA Continental Cup fixture of the new season.
The last time the two sides met was in this competition last season, where City defeated the Bees 3-0. Bissell is hoping that her side can replicate that sort of performance this evening.
“I think as a team we aren’t going to put too much pressure on ourselves but we know we’ve got the capability in our squad to win the next three games and I’m sure we can deliver that, pick up the three points each time and put in great performances.”
