The Robins return to action in four days following the international break and Oxtoby’s side will make the trip across the M4 to take on Reading at the Madejski.
City will be looking to build on their form prior to the break, which saw the reds pick up their first point of the Barclays FAWSL season in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham as well as securing Quarter-final qualification in the FA Continental Cup following a 3-1 win away victory at Lewes FC.
“Everyone’s buzzing to get started again at the weekend,” said Wellings.
“It feels like ages since we have played, when in reality it’s only been a few weeks.
“Heading into this weekend we’ve got to focus on the positives from the Tottenham fixture and continue to build on that performance.
“We’ve got to try and pick up points where we can and try to move ourselves up the table.
“Everyone knows how important this week is. Reading this weekend followed by games against Villa and West Ham, it’s a massive week but I think everyone is ready for it and can’t wait to get going.”
Bristol City Women take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday, December 6th (2pm) and because of Reading’s Tier 2 status, the hosts will be able to have fans attend.
However, because Bristol sits in Tier 3 following the recent government announcement fans from Bristol will be unable to purchase tickets and attend the fixture.
