Three days on from their mid-week draw with champions, Chelsea Women, Bristol City are preparing to travel to the blue side of Manchester to face Nick Cushing's side.

The last time the two sides met was a mere six days ago, when Manchester City visited the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium in the Continental Cup, a game in which they ran out three-nil victors.

However, Oxtoby believes her side have learnt a lot of lessons from their last two games against tough opposition and can take a lot of confidence into the game after holding out the champions on Wednesday.

"Our fixture away to Manchester City will be a tough way to end what has been a pretty hard week for the girls, but I can’t fault the squad at all this week for their effort, they have all worked really hard.

"We know the threats that Manchester City will pose on Sunday, we experienced that first hand in the Continental Cup last week and going into the weekend we’ve just got to make sure we perform for the whole ninety minutes this time round.", said Oxtoby.

"The performance against Chelsea should give the girls plenty of confidence going into the game on Sunday, whilst we defended really well, we also want to continue to get better with the ball so that’s where we’re looking to improve this week."
Bristol City Women manager Tanya Oxtoby

"It was a fantastic performance and result against Chelsea, the girls executed everything we asked of them and it’s allowed us to pick up a valuable point in the league.

"The performance should give the girls plenty of confidence going into the game on Sunday, but whilst we defended really well we also want to continue to get better with the ball so that’s where we’re looking to improve this week.

"This week has been a huge test for the girls with three games against really tough opposition and it’s been great for their individual development as well as the team's development, they will have learnt a lot about themselves and I know that they’re excited to have another crack at Manchester City on Sunday."
