The former Watford Women General Manager joins City’s backroom staff to head up the operational side of the football club in the lead up to the new season.

Williams tenure at the Hornets lasted two-and-a-half years, starting in November 2018 as she oversaw Watford’s successful promotion campaign into the FA Championship during the 2020/21 season, prior to a move to FA Wales earlier this year.

A five-month spell with the national football programme saw her aid the re-structure of the domestic football pyramid in Wales and assist clubs with their future development plans.

Speaking on her arrival in the West Country, Williams said: “There is a fantastic opportunity here at Bristol City Women to rebuild a great club that has been a prominent part of women’s game over the last 10-15 years.

“Despite relegation to the Championship, there are the foundations and a clear infrastructure that will shape the club to have a bright future ahead, and I’m delighted I can contribute to that moving forward.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with Gavin Marshall and Lauren Smith as well as all the wider staff and players, to help deliver the club’s vision and bring success to the women’s programme.”
